In a significant humanitarian effort, the Italian Community Sant’Egidio, in collaboration with other key partners and the Italian Government, has recently signed a Protocol on Humanitarian Corridors. This initiative aims to facilitate the safe evacuation of 1500 refugees and individuals in dire need of international protection from Libya to Italy over the course of the next three years. This latest protocol underscores Italy’s and Europe’s commitment to being inclusive and supportive nations. This collaborative effort reaffirms the value of international cooperation in upholding humanitarian principles and ensuring the safety and well-being of those seeking refuge.
